Whatever It Is – Let It Go

“Some of us think holding on makes us strong, but sometimes it is letting go.” – Herman Hesse

Ah, spring is in the air. Hallelujah it’s finally here! For those us who live with winter it’s such a welcome feeling. A rebirth of our souls; a renewing of nature. The birds start to sing again, the buds popping up on the trees, longer days, flowers blooming, the sun shining, warm air; it’s magical.

The lyrics from the song Feeling Good, says it all. “It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life for me and I’m feeling good.” This is the time of year to embrace change. Whatever it is that you have been holding onto, it’s time to do some spring cleaning and clear out your emotional closets.

Renew your mind and renew your spirit. Let go of the past. Get rid of what has been holding you back, holding you up and causing you to put your life on hold. Whatever it is, get rid of it, toss it out, throw it away, bury it; then bless it and release it, because now is the time to step into a new day, a new dawn, a new life for you!

If you really want to you can hold onto what doesn’t fit in your life anymore, to what is broken and can’t be fixed and to what is buried in the past. But, before you decide to hold onto it for another season or another day; ask yourself, how has that been working out for you? How does not letting go of whatever it is make you feel every day? And how would your life be different if you didn’t carry around this heaviness?

Today is a new day, don’t live with regrets. Whatever it is let it go and live for today. Get on with your life and begin to enjoy it. You are the only one who can either rob yourself of happiness or give yourself the gift of joy. It’s your choice. No one can make you feel anything without your permission.

If you let the past control how you live today, if you allow some circumstance or some person dictate how you feel; you give away your power. You have the freedom to choose and if you hold onto what makes you feel bad or you won’t let go of what tears you apart; you are choosing pain. So, decide how you want to feel.

Decide how you want to live. Decide that today is a new beginning and leave the rest behind. Once you know, truly know, that it’s your choice; you can make the decision to clean out the past and go out and begin to enjoy your life again. Remember, today is a new dawn, a new day, it’s a new life for you, if you choose.
